Acne therapy
Laser and Light technology treats acne with specific wavelengths of light which target the bacteria in the skin, as well as inflamed sebaceous glands that contribute to breakouts.
Laser treatment works best for people with mild to moderate acne and is especially suitable for those who have tried the usual treatments with creams and antibiotics with little or no success. Laser treatment is not suitable for severe, cystic scaring acne.
The laser treatment can reduce acne spots and fade the red marks left behind by the spots but will not remove pits or craters in the skin surface( we can do that with micro-needling treatment).
Your acnee therapy questions answered:
How do I prepare for appointment?
It is crucial to avoid sunbathing and tanning beds throughout the entire course of laser treatments. A minimum of four weeks must have passed since your last sunbathing or tanning bed session. This rule also applies to any tanning creams, medications, or injections. Prior to your first session, we will schedule free consultation during which a patch test will be conducted. Please arrive at your consultation without makeup or fragrance.
Does it hurt?
The treatment is totally comfortable, a highly sensation may be felt and the skin may be warm.
How many treatments do I require?
This depends on your skin condition, however most people require a series of treatments. The treatments will be spaced apart following your requirement. This will be discussed on the consultation appointment.
How long will the treatment last?
Results from laser and light therapies are generally long lasting. To maintain results, however you may need follow up treatments once or twice a year.
