Fungal nail eradication
Fungal Nail Treatment Warrington
Fungal nail infections are a common condition, affecting a significant number of people in the UK. The infection develops beneath the nail and is caused by fungi that thrive in warm, moist environments. It can affect both toenails and fingernails.
As the infection progresses, the nail may become discoloured, thickened and brittle. In some cases, debris can build up under the nail, and the infection may spread to surrounding nails or skin if left untreated.
At D.Aesthetics and Laser Warrington, we offer fungal nail treatment using medical-grade technology. The laser penetrates the nail to target the infection at a deeper level than topical treatments, helping to reduce fungal activity and support the growth of a healthier nail over time.
Laser treatment is a non-invasive option and is generally well tolerated. Multiple sessions are usually required, and results develop gradually as the new, healthy nail grows.
It is important to note that results can vary depending on the severity of the infection and individual response to treatment. While laser treatment can significantly improve the condition, no treatment can guarantee complete eradication in all cases.
Important Information
A confirmed diagnosis from your GP or healthcare professional is required before starting treatment. This ensures that the nail condition is correctly identified and that laser treatment is appropriate.

Your fungal nail eradication questions answered
How do I prepare for appointment?
It is crucial to avoid sunbathing and tanning beds throughout the entire course of laser treatments. A minimum of four weeks must have passed since your last sunbathing or tanning bed session. This rule also applies to any tanning creams, medications, or injections. Prior to your first session, we will schedule free consultation during which a patch test will be conducted. Please arrive at your consultation without makeup or fragrance.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is comfortable; though you can feel some heat in the nail as the laser needs to heat the fungus to damage it.
How many sessions are required?
Treatment will require an initial free consultation and patch test, followed by usually 2-3 treatments on the affected nails, 4-6 weeks apart.
How soon will I see the results?
Results will show depending on how quickly your nails grow, as your nail gradually grows out, the fungus will grow out with it -this may take 6-12 months for the nail to grow fully out and the fungus removed with it.
